Painted Windows

The idea for painting windows came to me one morning when I was driving to work.  I saw a window in someone’s front yard, waiting for the garbage man.  I immediately thought it would be fun to paint a window.  Like all things for me, this became a much bigger process than originally intended.  However, it also introduced me to the world of professional art.

One summer my mother gave me private art lessons, and our first project was drawing flowers.   Ever since then, I have loved drawing flowers.  If you take time to look closely at a flower, it’s amazing all the detail each one holds.   My pictures don’t replace real flowers, but capture them in a more permanent form.

When my landlord gave me permission to paint my bedroom wall, I don’t think he realized what I had in mind.  I like to think I have raised the value of my place!

The best part about adding to my own clothes is the guarantee that I will never walk into a room only to find someone wearing the same outfit as me.  The tank top is a fancified undershirt, my favorite summer top.  I need to make more of these as I do almost exclusively wear undershirt tanktops in the summer.  The jeans were a process.  I think they took at least sixty hours to complete, so they better fit me for the rest of my life!sixty hour jeans

Painted Furniture

Painting furniture is simply me admitting that I like everything to have color and detail.  My furniture has become an exciting new canvas, and one that doesn’t require a trip to Blick’s.

Handpainted Vases

Painting vases is an artform it took me too long to discover!  I attribute my start in painting vases to my friend, Anna, who collects bottles and vases.  I decided I wanted to paint something for her for Christmas, and her bottles immediately came to mind.  After a trip to the liquor store, where I bought the coolest bottle shapes I could find, I came home, dumped the liquor, and started painting.  Since then, all forms of glass have become victim to my art.
